This site belongs to Viktor M — Custom Development, LLC (“I”, “me”). It is a portfolio: it shows work I have done and lets you book a call. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no payment is ever taken here. This page explains the little that is collected anyway, and what you can do about it.
Questions about any of this go to makoed.viktor@gmail.com and I answer them myself.
In short Your name and email, and only when you book a call or write to me.
There are two ways to reach me from this site, and each collects something:
That is the whole list. I do not ask for a phone number, a postal address, a job title or payment details, and I do not collect anything that privacy law treats as sensitive — no health, biometric, political or similar data.
In short Ordinary web server and analytics data, most of it by the platform this site runs on.
This site is hosted on Uscreen, and Uscreen runs its own measurement and reliability tools on every page it serves. Between them they record the usual things a website records: your IP address, which pages you opened and when, the address you arrived from, and your browser, device and language settings. Some of it is kept in server logs, some of it in cookies.
I do not use any of it to identify you. I look at it to know whether the site is working and roughly how many people are reading it. Uscreen handles that data under its own privacy policy, and I have no control over how it collects or keeps it.
In short The platform sets them. You can refuse the optional ones and everything still works.
When you open this site, cookies are set by:
Uscreen shows a consent banner where you can accept or refuse the non-essential ones, and you can change your mind there at any time. Your browser can also block or delete cookies on its own; nothing on this site breaks if you do.
In short Four services, each doing one job. Nothing is sold or traded.
Loading anything from another company means your browser contacts it, so it sees your IP address and which page asked for the file. Each one handles that under its own privacy policy.
Beyond that I share nothing. I do not sell personal information, I do not trade it, and I do not hand it to advertisers. The only other case is a legal one: if a court or a regulator compels disclosure, or if I have to defend a legal claim.
In short Client names and links to pages anyone can open. Ask and it comes down.
The case studies and the list of live work name the businesses I have built for and link to their public pages. Nothing here comes from behind a login: no admin screenshots, no revenue figures, no customer data, and nothing a client has asked me to keep quiet about.
If you are one of those clients and would rather not be listed, email me and I will remove it promptly, usually the same day. You do not have to give a reason.
If you are in the UK or the EU, the law wants me to name a basis for each use. Mine are simple ones:
Emails and booking records stay while we are talking and for as long as I need them as a record of the work — in practice a few years, because invoices and contracts have to be kept. After that they are deleted. Server logs and analytics are kept on the schedules the platforms set, which are far shorter.
You can ask me to delete your email or booking earlier than that, and I will.
I work with clients all over the world and the services above are run from several countries, mostly the United States. So your information may be processed outside the country you are in. Where the law requires safeguards for such a transfer, I rely on the mechanisms those providers publish for it, such as the standard contractual clauses.
I use reasonable measures to protect what little I hold, and the services above are responsible for their own. No transmission over the internet and no method of storage is completely secure, though, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, and you send information to this site at your own risk.
This site links out to work I have built for clients and to a few reference pages. Those sites are run by other people: I do not control them, I am not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you follow one, this policy stops applying and theirs takes over.
In short Email me and I will do it. There is no form and no fee.
Depending on where you live, you can ask me to:
Write to makoed.viktor@gmail.com. I will come back to you within a month, and usually the same week. I may need you to reply from the address I hold, so that I am not handing your details to somebody else.
If you are in the UK or the EU and you think I have handled this badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. You are welcome to raise it with me first, but you do not have to.
This site is for people hiring a developer. It is not aimed at anyone under 16, and I do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent me something, tell me and I will delete it.
Several states now give residents rights over their personal information. The only categories I hold are identifiers — your name and email address — and the contents of what you choose to write to me. In the last twelve months I have not sold personal information, and I have not shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising. I do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a right. Use the address below and I will act on your request.
Browsers can send a “do not track” signal, but there is still no agreed standard for what a site must do with it, so this one does not respond to it. The cookie banner and your own browser settings are the controls that actually work.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change gets a clearer notice than that. The version you are reading is the one that applies.
